    Default Trolling motor confusion

I am looking to replace the Maxxum 55 on my bass tracker. I just can not get use to using the foot control and fish at the same time. I gave it all last summer to practice and just give up. What I want is a remote control unit, however I am confused what exactly I need to get... Copilot, autopilot, I-pilot?????

Do I need a powerdrive unit or a terrova???

What I am really asking is what do I need to get hooked up with 55lb Thrust remote contol unit.

    Thanks in advance.

    Default trolling motor

i have both a foot control and wireless on my boat. both are motorquide and have had good luck with them. i wanted to give you my input, if you are bass fishing or crappie fishing i would stay with foot control. if you are trolling then the wireless is the way to go. only drawback with wireless it is slower than the cable on foot control. also when you are on and off it not smooth like a foot... just my opinion..i like my foot when casting and wireless for trolling. hope this helps

Foot control is not available with Powerdrive if you have I-Pilot....foot control is for terrova I-pilot only

Minn Kota and Motor Guide are both great motors. The type of fishing you do the most should be the deciding factor on which motor you need to get. For trolling, the Power Drive V2 or Terrova is the way to go. For dock shooting, tight lining, drop shotting, etc. where you need a faster response time from the trolling motor, a cable drive motor will be your best bet.
