    Default Humminbird greg?

Hello Greg, Does HB ever have intentions of selling an SI down imaging unit without GPS? I personally like 2 separate units rather than screen splitting.

Not Greg, but of course not because if you ever used si you would know that si without Gps would be useless as you would not be able to mark structure. Example you see structure on your si out at 100 feet and with GPS you mark a waypoint for that structure then proceed to go to it---but with no GPS you could not mark the waypoint of it so you will not be able to find it. Oh sure you would know there's structure somewhere out there, but where???

You don't have to split the screen you can run it in SI only. You can run just one side of SI. You can run it in GPS only. Humminbird has covered all possible ways you would want to run there SI unit. Get you one you want regret it! You will say. Wish I had got one 5years ago!

I prefer arrows. Compasses have arrows, not donuts! The "no donut" is an easy software fix. Need to push that donut up a programmers rosette. MOAO

Too bad you can't customize icons like on some GPSs... I have 2 Garmin iQue GPS/Palm units and I customized my icons for waypoints and uploaded via laptop and USB

It is a matter of one graphics image replacement.... even if they do it as part of an update we're talking minimal time and effort involved on HBs part

Humminbird already gives you the ability to use a separate GPS with some units. Any of their units labeled GPS ready allow you to use input from another GPS unit. I have an HB 778 finder right now, and have it linked to my Garmin GPS. I can mark waypoints, save them, and record tracks with my HB unit using GPS input from the Garmin. I don't have to split screens, nor switch back and forth. So to me, why have to spend a few hundred more to get capabilities I already have.

I don’t think that we would ever sell an Si only unit as there would not be a large enough market for it. Plus the cost of the unit would probably not be that much less as many of the components would still be needed to run the Si sonar and display.
