    Default Where would you buy?

You guys are responsible for my present condition of thinking that I have to have a HB sidescan unit. I am confused about what to do. So my questions are: 1. Would you buy local (Gander Mtn or Bass Pro) and probably pay more or would you buy something off the net? 2. If buying off the net, do you have favorite vendors that you trust not to mess over you and that have provided good service in the past? 3. I have seen extended waranties offered from some vendors, would they be worth it? Thanks for your replies.

I purchased mine off the net from Hodges Marine Electronics - Marine FishFinders, GPS, VHF, Radars, and more! and my 798 cost me $908.oo delivered to my door. There are a couple of other sites that have good prices also but I have found Hodges hard to beat on their prices and they ship cheap and fast.

I have done a LOT of business over the past 5-6 years with Wade Kuehl at Jolly Ann Marine:

Jolly Ann Marine and Outdoor - Fishfinders, GPS, & Outdoor Gear

Free shipping, no tax outside of IA, and simply outstanding, personalized service.

I would use "poor fish" on Ebay, i have bought a 997 for me, a 997 for my brother n law, and a 1197 for me, from him. i saved hundreds verses retail, he is an authorized humminbird dealer, and is is top notch with his business. i would buy from him again if needed. jm

It definitely pays to shop around online!

I'm very wary of Ebay sellers and don't do much business there.

I found a good deal on my 747 here:

Humminbird Fishfinders GPS, Depth Sounders, ChartPlotters & Accessories at HUMMINBIRD.FactoryOutletStore.com

    ... and great service too!

Call J and H Products at 1-517-281-5284...ask to speak to John in customer service.....

Tell him you are adamant about puchasing a 2010 model HB unit......so you don't get a "leftover 2009" that's been sitting on the shelf for a year....

He will find you one...and it will be $200 to $400 cheaper than BPS or GM...
