Default Ram mount cradle for I-Pilot remote

I have a small ram mount attached to one of my rod holders for holding my I-Pilot remote. I have had a hard time finding a cradle to fit the I-Pilot. Ram does not make one specifically for it... Yet.. I have "rigged" a cradle from a cell phone holder and a Lowrance h20 cradle and it is working just fine.

I called Ram the other day and gave them the dimensions of the remote and they sent the following link for a universal cradle that should work for the I-Pilot.. Thought I would pass this along in case someone else was looking for one..

    Part Details

P.S. Jerry at Ram spent a lot of time on phone with me and was a great help..

This would be nice to hold the remote. Let us know how it works...

Why??? Don't ya need to be holding it? I would think a lanyard for your neck or belt would suffice.

    LOL

    1) Keeps it in easy reach
    2) Hands free allowing you to "fish"
    3) Allows view of the I-Pilot screen, remote on lanyard or belt does not provide easy view.

I do use the lanyard on belt when guiding while I'm tending to other chores in the boat etc... If I'm fishing up front, this works great for me and less chance for an unwanted command to be entered by accident..
