Guess it is time to get on with the HB service Dept.

Alright I have a little issue that has me stumped.
I have a 1197 on the console and a 797 on the trolling motor with SI transducer. Both units have their own Gps antenna installed. I have them connected with the interlink and both units show connected to the interlink on the accessory test menu.
I have tons of waypoints on the 797 and I want to store them to the interlink and them share them with the 1197. I have the share option selected on all the waypoints on the 797. Both units show up on the interlink status.
When I select the participate in network option on the 797, I always get the same message.
"Sync in progress" then "connection failed cancelled"
What am I missing here?
Crappiehunter68: When you wade through this problem and get it hammered out, please post what you ended up having to do. My system will be very similar to yours and I'd like to know about any issues with the interlink in case this ever happens to me. Thanks

Joby has a diagram dated 2/4/2010 using 2 units & interlink

This may not be an Interlink hook-up problem per se. How many waypoints are we talking? I believe you can have up to 3000 on a 997 (I assume the same on similar SI units). However, with two units, your effective limitation is 1500 at a time, because the Interlink needs enough room to sync two units. In other words, lets say I have 1800 waypoints that I want stored on both units. The Interlink doesn't know that they're the same waypoints and must load both files, compare them, and then write the new ones to each unit. Since the Interlink has the same 3000 waypoint capacity as the units themselves, it can't store the 3600 required to do the comparison. Until I figured this out, my units did all kinds of crazy things once I hit the limit. The Interlink should be made with a 6000 waypoint capacity, but it's not.
Ok I may have the solution thanks to Greg at Humminbird. I have a WeatherSense accessory inline to the interlink and it (wethersense) needs to be reset.
Worked for me. I disconnected the cables from the weathersense and now I have interlink.
Sounds like that thing has some interrupt priority contingency problems...![]()
