I am not sure what was causing the issue originally but I suspect that since I had my Weathersense connected to the 797 only for a couple of years it need to reset to accept the interlink connection. The internal battery also ended up saying it was low so that could have been it also.
To reset the weathersense I just disconnected it and pulled the internal battery and replaced it.
Crappiehunter68,
So everything is working right now?
I’ve heard that sometimes when you first connect an InterLink and a unit has a lot of waypoints on it that it will sometimes ‘choke’ if you have a WeatherSense in-line too. Removing the WeatherSense and reconnecting the units allows the waypoints to update and you can than reinstall the WeatherSense. I’ve not been told why this happens.
Yep everything working now.
I ended up having 388 waypoints on the 797. I unplugged the wethersense and did the sync and it was successful. I then hooked the weather sense back up and all is functioning.
It had to have something with the amount of data I was trying to pass through the weathersense.
Case closed. Let me go ahead and say Greg. You guys at Humminbird are awesome. I already wrote one letter to Johnson outdoors about Eddie and the support I got from him. Guess I will be breaking out the pen again. I just hope the support service never changes.
