Thread: Is HB paying employees to post this stuff?

    Default Is HB paying employees to post this stuff?


    Noticed on every board I can find online, that either HB sponsored pros or employees are posting this information about the Patent and Lawsuits.

    There's a lot of ridiculous information being put out. And most of the, as cane pole would call them "Turd Pluggers" on BBC actually believe that HB patented Side scan imaging. The Main man Doug V did the same posts had Joby did here.

    What does this crap have to do with: 1. the units themselves. 2. US 3. fishing 4. Anything that actually matters to a fisherman?

    If I see it on CNN or FOXNEWS then I might think something of it. Is the point of this to get the focus off of how good the lowrance units appear to work, or how great the screen shots are? Since there's a HB pro on BBC, they had to split the forums. I bet HB didn't tell JOBY and all their people to post this for everyone to see, at least not without giving them a bonus for the amount of posts they can do.

    Frankly, in my opinion, it make HB look like a big spoiled kid, making a feable attempt to draw the focus off what really matters, the product.

    Why get all worked up about two corporations duking it out ? I would think the vast majority here think that Greg and Joby posting here has helped us all.

    Not taking sides either way. But I would like to see Lowrance's employees helping out on sites all over the web. Wether they pay them or not is immaterial to me.

    Lowrance's customer service has taken a turn for the worse. Is not my opinion but just what I read all over the web. At one time they known for stellar customer service. For what top of the line units cost now days. I want to be sure of getting help if I need it.

    Only a few people can answer that one.

    My hat does go off to those guys for what they do here and on other boards. They sometimes take some crap but seem to wade through it. Can't really put a $ figure on how they help and share info with board members, but for some its gotta be near priceless.

    But what HB is doing???? FUD...

    Well with all the help Humminbird employee's do on various sites, I'll give them a free pass for the lawsuit news release. I'd guess Lowrance has the same opportunity, to have someone monitor the forums and offer help. They didn't choose to. You snooze, you lose.

    I have appreciated that there are HB folks available to answer questions about their products. Lowrance has the same opportunity. I basically have switched to HB for their reputation for service as much as for their new technologies. HB was the first to market SI for popular consumption, and if they feel someone has stolen their patented technologies, they should seek relief in the courts. I also appreciate being able to upgrade my units without having to buy the a new model.

    I should have stated in my post, that yes, they are helpful to people with how to operate the units, etc. Usually have good info. I do appreciate that.

    HB guys have my vote. I appreciate any and all help they can give us. I see no other mfg. posting any responses to any of our questions, problems, etc. The only time I have seen one, is thier promotion of a product. Thanks Gregg and Joby. I appreciate your help.

    I'd be careful 'bout jumping on Joby and Greg if I were you. We've whooped up on 'em enough that they've toughened up pretty good. You just liable to draw back a nub.

    But to your original question.......who cares? Yes, they're drawing a salary and have the responsibility of C.C monitoring assigned to them. And if I had to guess, I'd say all those in their position received an email saying to post the below on their forums, but it's not like you could say they're just mouth pieces for Big Sonar. They actually help quite a few and don't mind getting off down in the deep jungle on a technical issue on occassion either. If you'll also note, it's very rare that they respond to a post with the word "Lowrance" in their reply. They stick to their product and in doing so, let the market decide. You gotta appreciate their (and H'bird's) approach.

    However, if you're gonna jump one, jump on Greg. Joby carries a blade.

    You fellers quit poking Lowrance in the eye. I believe HB has a novel idea with the forum participation. However, if Lowrance and HB were both here on this forum, it would quickly become the OT electronics forum.

    I too agree joby and greg have been very helpful to me by helping resolve issues i have had with my humminbirds my hat is off to them keep up the good work I appreciated the info good to know what is going on
