Does the upgrades make the 787 a better unit

I have no troubles with my 787c2i and I have not installed the upgrades for the unit yet. Does the upgrades make it a better unit for everyday use? Can you see any improvements after installing the upgrades? I don't want to mess with my unit if the upgrades does not improve the everyday use. Thanks for any feedback you can give me.

I'm in the same boat, no pun intended. I've not installed the upgrades for my 787C2i either. Hope someone can enlighten us on whether we should. I'm also not 100% certain of exactly how to do it.

it helped mine i was getting a lot of tm interference and the new sonar upf
grades are great i recommend upgrading it no problems when i did mine i wend ahead and did the factory defaults before i started

The upgrade will enhance the 787. You will the 4 times faster GPS. 2 new 2D Color Palettes. Also you will get SwitchFire which will increase your sensitivity. It will be set on Clear Mode. If you want to make the unit more sensitivity change it to Max Mode in 10 foot or deeper water.

Thanks Joby, I installed the upgrade last night. Very easy to install. Going to the lake about 10:00 this morning and will post tonight how well the unit does.

Call HB and ask for a tm noise interference kit. The kit works good.

Thanks CP I just called them and they are sending me one out today. They also told me that there is some new programing in the latest update that is supposed to help as well. I will do both and hopefully it will fix my problem.

My unit worked great today with the upgrades. The GPS is faster than before.
Didn't lose the bottom of the lake at fast speed (my fast speed is 27mph)
Glad I finally installed the upgrade.
