SO I should stay with the 455 when sidescanning and down imaging.
What does everyone use while running the lake and just the regular depth finder mode
I lose signal at about 10 MPH.. Most of the time if I'm running hard, I have the map up going to my next waypoint.. but that's just me.. Curious as what others do too.
It's all about transducer placement. Here's a screen capture from one of this week's trips. Almost 42 mph, and still a very usable SI and DI signal. The 2D is the worst of the bunch, but still readable at this speed.

These are mostly of fish....taken this past week on the Mississippi River.
Here's another showing a nice pod of suspended fish extending out to both sides of the boat.
I'm not sure as I haven't seen a 797/8 in action with DI.
I suspect, however, that chopping that 5" screen into 3 pieces would result in some pretty tiny images!
