Thumbs up Inside Lowrance..The real picture...

    Well......

The blue connector plug was broken from it position. Thin plastic

Fabricated this part from a plano box divider using a solder iron with a conical tip.

Glued this part in with JB weld. Cleaned and roughened both surfaces before pressing the parts together.

Fill the blue connector gap with marine rtv.

Walla. You guys can do this. About 2 hours. Savings 150-200 bucks.

I will let the rtv cure a couple of days, then clean the unit up and go see if it works..

    PS

    I can't tie jigs.

No. The display is self contained. It is inside the plastic housing. All the electronics is assembled at room temperature and are ambient air sealed. Cost too much to gas seal the complete unit especially over the units lifetime.

I haven't see any sonars assembled in years, but I doubt the assembly process has changed much. I could be wrong. Then again I can read Chinese either.

Also, the front glass is usually some type of glass filter in front of the lcd display. Most front glass screens have some type coating to help viewing in the sun. I cant remember all the details. Next time I take one apart, I will post some pictures. This is good to know stuff.

    Default Can't?

    PS

    I can't tie jigs.

I refuse to believe that you, of all people, can't tie jigs. Don't want to buy all the gear, have never tried, don't have the time, don't have the room for all the junk; these I might believe. Gonna have to box up some stuff and come show ya how. It sure isn't rocket science. No pun intended.:D

Makes me wonder why we can't get this level of help from the tech folks? Teleprompters are eroding self sufficiency. SEND IT IN.

I eat Teleprompter techs for breakfast. Theys kinda crunchy like Capt'n Crunch.

    Just kidding folks.
