Laserdoc,
Not at work now until after the New Year to be able to check that serial number but I pretty sure with the unit containing the GR50 GPS Receiver that it also contains the large gauge power cable with the molded in filter as well.
This would also be the same power cable as was in the interference kit.
When you adjusted your transducer; did you try angling the back end down slightly? Sometimes this is all you need to do to get it dialed in.

Greg,
My boat is over on Lake Weiss until I go get it on Sunday and bring it back home. Plan to install the 997 and fine tune some other things to get ready for Spring.
I beleive your right on the power cable I got in the interference kit. It does have the inline filter in it. I will be going over to Lake laneir north of Atlanta (20 min drive) to fine tune the 997 after I get it all mounted. I will try messing with the transducer angle again and see if I can get it dialed in before I get a transducer board and mount that on the boat so I can move the transducer more to the center. Current mount is pretty close to the outside edge of the boat
When you say the back end tilted down ,are you talking about the end closest to the boat and bracket?. Which would mean the front end up if your talkin the back end down a bit more

I'm meaning the end farthest away from the boat and bracket. It will slightly point the 2D sonar beam forwards but will also sometimes help shed the air bubbles around the transducer instead of under it. I'm not talking much here - maybe a 5 degree tilt at the most.

Have already tried 5,10,15 degrees. Guess i will gave the board a shot so I can move it. At the moment I have a small 4x5 bracket that came welded on the boat just for mounting a transducer
