I would not worry about the foot pedal. I hate my Terrova pedal. It is almost impossible for me to press the power button with my toe and steer the motor left. I only use the rear steering buttons. I have it on a quick connect and would love to have a Maxxum for single poling or any other fishing other than trolling. What kind of quick mount allows you to use both a Maxxum and a Terrova? Mine is a MinnKota brand that I picked up at Bass Pro and it is only made for the Terrova.

I found a good buy on two of the mounts for the Maxum, and made an adapter plate to mount the Terrova to one of them. Not particularly pretty, but it works.
