Humminbird 788 CI

Hi guys,
I just have to tell everyone I know about the service I received recently from the folks at Humminbird.
I built a new boat in march 2009, bought 4 Lowrance units (2 sonar / 2 chart plotters). By the end of August 3 of them had broken, at least once and I was totally fed up with the complete lack of customer service offered by the people in Tulsa.
I bought the new Humminbird (788 CI) out of desperation, ordered it via a catalog house in WI.. When it came in the SD card door fell off in my hand, the little cross pin was missing.
I called Humminbird customer service, the nice lady took my number and gave me a customer and "promised" to call me back after lunch. After the lack of service by Lowrance I said "to myself", yeah right...
She did exactly as she promised then dropped the hammer on me. She called for my shipping address and informed me that she would be shipping me a new replacment unit that day and that I could put the defective one in the box, use the shipping label she provided and ship the defective one back at their expense.
THAT is CUSTOMER SERVICE...
I called and wrote to thank them for their fine service and have now bought my 2nd 788CI and have sold 3 more for them.
Thanks Humminbird for a great unit and even greater service...
Caught a ton of big Crappie last week using the new sonar units too...

Thanks for this post. I've been looking for a new unit, and the 788ci is what I have finally decided on. Your post was a welcome affirmation of my initial decision.

+1 on the HB customer service. My 797 screen messed up and the unit was 18 months old with a 1 year warranty. I called and talked to a lady in the cs dept and told her what the unit was doing. She put me on hold a couple of minutes and came back to say send it back and we will cover under warranty! Was gone all of 10 days and back working just like brand new. I will buy another one when this one goes out!

He may be talking about about this site, I got one from them about 4 weeks ago, they had the best price I could find. Looks like they've gone up a little since I bought.
