My Garmin GPSmap76CX supports custom icons (supposedly.) I have a good graphic editor, but can't figure out how to upload the finished product to the device. Where can I find some help with this?

If nobody here has an answer, try Garmin customer service by email. They usually respond within 24 hours.

Checking around my Garmin Mapsource software I found a way to make custom icons and upload them. If you have a Mapsource program, you should be able to look on your computers, "My Documents" and find the file, " My Garmin". If you click on it, it will have icons you can customize. It requires a graphic program, and then the cable to upload to you unit.
There exists an open source program call GIMP. It is an image manipulator that I use to screw with pictures, etc.
I have never made any gps icons. I can't see them anyway.:o I just use different shapes and colors of Icons in Oziexplorer.
GIMP is free. You can Google Gimp up.
