    does anybody know how to transfer waypoints from a sd card to hds-8?

    Use GPSBabel to convert the old waypoints to Lowrance format and put the file on an SD card. Then you "load" the file to the hds-8. I can't give you the exact menu sequence since I have not played with the hds-8.
