Default Lowrance Ifinder H2o Gps + Waas Receiver

Ok So I Was Out On Truman Lake This Morning. Followed A Couple Of Missouri Members From A New To Me Boat Ramp To An Area That I Kind Of Know. Mapped It Out With My Hand Held Lowrance Ifinder H20 Gps Unit. A Heavy Rain Storm Came Up! Went Under A Bridge To Under Storm Let Up. Wife Was In Back Of Boat. Unit Was On Plugged In Lighter Outlet. Wife Said Unit Beeped. I Found Out That Unit Was Locked Up And I Had To Travel Back To Boat Ramp On Water That I Had Only Seen This Morning. Lucky I Didn't Loose Lower Unit Of Boat Motor. Only A Fool Would Run Truman Lake In Missouri Without A Gps Unit.

Unit Keeps Telling Me That It Can't Find Any Satellites! Tried Soft Reset Without Any Luck! Tried Hard Reset Without Any Luck.

Been Reading Other Threads About Gps Units And Fish Finders From Lowrance. And As You Would Know My Warranty Is Out! So I Have A Junk Unit And A High Dollar Fhsp-s 286 Premier Lakes Sd Card.

This Is Not The First Problem With This Unit! Had To Replace Power Cord Because It Was Always Getting Hot To The Touch. Didn't Contact Lowrance At That Time Just Went To Bass Pro And Got Another Power Cord.

Any Ideas? Or Am I Just In The Same Sinking Boat As Other Lowrance Owners?

I Currently Have 2 Lowrance Eagle Fish Mark 500c Fish Finders On My Boat And I Just Purchased Them Last Fall. So I Guess They Will Be Next To Quit Working On My Boat!

Any Help Or Ideas Would Be Appreciated!

    Thanks In Advance!

    Dan

I think it may have locked up from not being able to "see" the satellites for a given amount of time. Mine always reset, but my sat radio will sometimes go out for hours while trying to re-aquire. Maybe pop the batts and let it sit overnite? hope you work it out.

I think you lost your satellites hiding under the bridge, but why it would be fussy once you came out is mysterious.

YEAH AND THE FUNNY PART WAS I HAD THE SATELLITES WHEN I CAME OUT FROM UNDER THE BRIDGE AND FOR ABOUT AN HOUR LATTER THEN I LOST THEM IN A COVE AND THEY NEVER CAME BACK.

If you have it set to WAAS it will be tough for it to pick up the number of Sats for WAAS. You said it had been raining, rain clouds will interfere with Sat reception. I have an H2O and LMS 520c and not had any problems that were not my own fault.

I also have an original Ifinder that I rarely used the WAAS feature because it would consistantly lose signal just from being next to a fairly steep bank. When I set the unit to not use the WAAS, I was good to go. I really don't need it because even without the WAAS, I was still getting to within 3' of my waypoints. The Lowrance units I have owned have been consistantly accurate, and with a good refresh rate.

Go into you settings and check to see how you have your unit set up and try it without the WAAS. You'll find the accuracy is still there.

I CAN'T FIND THE SETTING TO SEE IF I EVEN HAVE IT ON WAAS. I AM GOING TO GET THE BOOK OUT TOMORROW AND TRY TO FIND IT. I DID FINALLY TODAY AFTER 30 MINUTES STANDING OUT IN FRONT YARD GET THE DARN THING TO GET A SAT SIGNAL. I KNOW THE LAST COVE WE WERE IN SATURDAY WAS ONE OF THOSE CLOSE IN HIGH BANKED COVES LIKE YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT.

I DID SEE THE LOWRANCE IFINDER H20 GPS + WAAS IN COLOR AT BASS PRO OUTLET TONIGHT FOR $190.00 WITH A 25% OFF STICKER ON IT.
BY THE WAY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN HELPING ME! YOU GUYS MAKE BE PROUD TO BE A CDC MEMBER!
