Since I have not yet tried this M-F floating Plastic, but have been following their results, I have to agree with BigB
IMO (Stepping out of the box) feel it could be a math issue meaning:
The material used has a certain floating characteristic formula in which case different molds may have a larger area than others creating more buoyancy to the product.
Hear again if you compare it to a float, to much weight will sink it so there has to be a balance
M-F may have what limitation of area vs weight you need for this product to stay afloat
