Default Update on the Yellow Challenge

    Thanks Guys for your input

So far Perch seem to be the best bite so far, with a few bite off’s which I feel were small northerns, but will continue after the front passes
Seems every time I get the chance to go out its been so windy that I have to call off the trip as I’m in a 12’ John Boat having a shallow draft design with white caps starting to come over the side didn’t need to go for a swim.

    DrNip
Always liked the Carrot Mold and have had success using them in the 4” and 3” size
I use the Dual Injector to simulate the color minnows in the waters I fish.
The PIC shows one of the colors I use along with sort of a Grayish, Blk top part.(sorry no pic on that color)

Reason I liked the carrot I recall fishing the Northern Waters in WI in my early days using a June Bug Spinner, which in that era was a Hot Bait but that particular day it wasn’t, “Until” an O’L time Fisherman said Kid if you want to get Bite you have to use a carrot set up, Well I kinda chuckled and asked whats that?
Well the O’L timer had a Real 4” Carrot leaving some of the green stalk left on it, strung a steel leader through it then put a treble hook on the end, attached it to the spinner and was good to go.
Well ! never the less with the snicker I had before pitching this thing made me a believer in the hand crafted carrot bait, as I caught Walleye, Northern, and some very large Crappie.

I often wonder if this may have been the beginning of the carrot mold

    billygee
