Tim...just hand pour the belly side of the mold, then dot raw colorant in a couple places after the belly pour cools off some. Close the mold and keep it flat until the top color of plastic is heated to shooting temp. Then clamp the mold keeping it flat, fill the injector, stand the mold upright quickly and inject it. You have to keep the clamped mold flat to prevent the raw colorant from running. It takes some practice but the results can be dramatic as shown. Its a process that is well worth the messing around.

Does the colorant in the legs of the frog stay in the middle of the plastic or is it more toward the underside of the frog?

It tends to shoot thru the middle of the leg.
