Default Last few checks before first order

Chose my colors, chose my molds, decided on my plastic, now last few questions:
Do I need to get a heat stabilizer for remelting and later pours of recycled plastic?
Should even bother with softener and hardener at this point?
Am I missing any essential colors?
    Caney Creek:
Cinnamon, chosen as my motoroil color
    Purple
Pearl Smoke Green chosen as my sea foam color
    Chartreuse
    Fl. Pink
    Fl. Orange
    White
    Black
    Bubblegum

    Anything else I am missing?
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

Stabilizer can be a good thing to be using on transparent colors that will be heated long or several times. Its cheap insurance. If you are shooting bass or salt water baits you won't need softener, but if you are doing small baits for say crappie or sunfish I recommend it as well....reheats can harden plastic as can the addition of hi lites, glitters and pearl powders. Salt will really stiffen up plastic. If you are going to want softer plasticss, use the softener.... cheaper than plastic.

Did you get your pyrex cups to use in the microwave?
Did you choose any glitter colors or worm oil and anise scents to mix in?
What type of molds? injection or pour?

I do not know about others, but when I remelt previous pours I put them in the pyrex cup and place them in the microwave. I check them every 25-30 seconds and stir them to help prevent burning them. Read the safety list!!!!! Be sure you are wearing apprpopriate clothing, glasses, shoes and gloves!!!

Injection molds, 1 egg collection mold and 2 skirt egg molds, already have my mold from Snake River, thank you Bob, again, for that mold and getting em started.
I have two 1 cup Pyrex cups for melting
No glitter, not really an additive I considered for my primary fishing, salmon and steelhead.
No worm oil or scents, I can't use them half the season here for salmon and figured I would add my own I already have depending on what the fish are biting on when I can. I realize worm oil is not "scented" but with the regulations around here it isn't worth taking a chance on a big ticket.
Softener, not sure, I might add that but the way salmon and steelhead shake their heads and rip at a bait I am not sure I would want a softer bait. No salt being added either.

As for safety, I am anal about it most of the time. My kids won't get near it, I will wear long sleeves and gloves, I wear glasses anyway so covered there.

Only thing I might add glitter to would be some Coho salmon baits. The copperhead powder paint is super effective on Coho Salmon so matching that color could be an awesome bait color combo for salmon. Anyone have any suggestions on a good copper colorant from Caney Creek?

I would probably go ahead with the stabilizer but not the softener. What plastic you goin to use... Medium? Are those colors the X2?

I don't think I saw a thermometer on your list. You need to be able to check your plastic temperature.
Some like digital quick rads; some Infra-Red.

    Medium plastic from Caney Creek.
Most colors are X2, a couple are their regular ones. Just don't have the exact colors I want in the X2 yet.

I did forget a thermometer, gotta find a good one, probably look for an infrared but may go digital. Have to decide on that. Getting hot enough to activate the stabilizer is key from what Jason at Caney Creek was saying.

Also, what is this I hear about using bad glitter and it melting through Pyrex cups? Is there a special glitter to get or can someone use CSI glitter in plastics? I see that Caney has glitter but I already have many colors from CSI.

Only use the glitter specifically made for use with soft plastic baits. DO NOT use craft glitter.
