Default Turned my failure into a success

Well I was making some laminates and I was having trouble with them separating so I thought it would be a good time to test my hand at dipping them in clear. I think they came out nice what do you guys think? This is the first time I had problems with them separating. I think it came from not holding enough pressure on the injector as I was trying to keep the belly from lifting up and getting the second color under it. Anyone got other reasons why they did not seal? The temp of the injected color was in the low 300’s and I don’t use any oils on my molds. I must say dipping gives a good affect but it is not my favorite thing to do. Way more time involved, and I lose jigs/baits too fast to put that much time into it lol.

I think you did great! Your temp on the laminate was to low. I never use a thermometer because I want my Plastic at different temps for different things. I find I shoot a perfect laminate your plastic needs to be HOT like hot maple syrup. Hold pressure not a lot but some but the 1 key to a perfect laminate is leave half the runner on the mold. This is where the divider plate is key. If you leave half the runner then it keeps the HOT plastic from getting under your first color. You can use all the worm oil you want and still shoot perfect if your plastic is HOT. I always use oil on my laminates because I might have a few hundred base colors and they are ALOT easier to put back in the mold when the are slicked up a bit.
I hope this helps and some one else might have better advice I'm just a rookie lol

Man, those are looking good. I got some triple tails like those in your pictures from baitman awhile back and have had a chance to use 'em. Takes very little to make the triple tails work and I was really surprised at how durable the plastics were with that small section in front of the tails. The fish dont pull the tails off like you'd think they would.
