    Default Mold Reviews

This may be a good topic to start as a sticky. When youget a new mold post your likes and dislikes for others to maybe help them intheir decisions to buy or not to buy. You can also post reviews of molds youalready have to fill in some of the gaps. Remember to name your mold in the titleline. Also put a pick or two of the bait for visual observations.

    Default Jacob Tadpole Mold

This little mold is pretty awesome. It is what I wouldcall small sized. You can rig it on a 1/32, 1/24, 1/16, or 1/8 head and itstill works. The 1/8 is pretty big for it but it does not over power it too toobad. I love the 1/8 heads in the summer when the fish are 25 plus feet deep. Itgives me really good contact with the bait. My first pro for the bait is thatit is symmetrical about its longitudinal axis. You can rig the bait with thetail laying top to bottom or side to side to get two different actions from thesame bait. It is also fairly easy to pour a top to bottom or side to sidelaminate bait with a single injector. Additionally, it shoots 10 baits at atime so I can get all the baits I need for a trip in no time. The tinyinjection port uses little to no plastic so you don't have a lot of wastedplastic after each shot equaling less reheats between shots. Most of all thedarn thing is cheap which is good for me since this is just a hobby. If you areon the fence with this one I would definitely say give it a shot. I do not haveany cons to report. Between work and bad weather weekends I have not had muchtime for on the water testing; however, I gave some to a friend and word fromthe field is that they catch fish.

    Default Kmold Pintail Minnow (Lurecraft)

This little guy is a good imitation for the world renownBGBS. Pretty much the same body with different tail. The tail is cylindrical and very thin which will yield lots of action even in the coldest of water. I would call this guy medium sized. The price is relatively cheap but it is only 5 cavities. This will make getting a good supply of baits take longer. Not a problem for the recreational pourer but it would really suck if you wanted to use it for production. Also, this mold is not set up for easy top to bottom laminates. You could do side to side relatively easily. Large spur uses a lot of excess plastic. I would use a 1/32, 1/24, and1/16 head with this one. Picture shows BGBS in middle and Pintail Minnow on top and bottom.
