    Talking Translucent Shad Minnows

I try and keep it pretty simple. Shad/Minnows - white, silver, pearl, translucent Bluegill/Perch - something with chartreuse in it. I also have glitter imbedded into the translucent body for added flash. I am trying to make the plastic somewhat translucent and yet have a hint of color. I have also removed a lot of mass so that sensitivity and action of the tail is increased. Should pretty great under a slip float or on a drop shot rig.

I will use this slip float rig to give it the most action underwater. It is a variation of the Waggler float designed for keeping the line underwater so the float operates best and ease of casting where the line does not hahve to travel all the way up the tube to cast the float.

Love the rig up Ship. Those minnows look great. I told you that you can maybe walk on water. I like the idea of the hole in the waggle stopper and hooking a snap swivel on it. Great thought. Thanks for the info. Will rig me some for the spring.

Thank you for the kind words my friend. However I can only look at the water or throw rocks into it. Let Jesus do his thing and let me just be His servant.

I try and teach men to fish so they can feed their families. I am still learning from all the great members here Scoot.

Thank you Skeetbum for encouraging this old man. Working with soft plastics is better on my eyes and hands than tying jigs. If people live long enough they will meet Arthur it is.

In spite of the arthritis I am having fun. Never claimed to be as good as Keith, Bob and the others. Heck 78 views and only 2 comments will tell you that. Even Ray Charles could not miss that. But, in spite of it all I appreciate the encouragement. Friends like "G" and Snake River are constantly sending me pm's.of encouragement and I appreciate them.

I think I am making a little improvement so that is why I posted the photo. If the old man like me can do something with soft plastics then perhaps the younger generation will try it and have some positive things to do instead of getting into trouble. I do not mind the criticisms. Sometimes my friend, you just have to try.

Hey Bob or Keith...Part of my tail keeps bleeding into the body. I pour both plastics at about 350 degrees when they are hot and runny like syrup, usually within 10 seconds of each other. What am I doing wrong. Should I pour the tail and then the body or should I pour the body and then the tail? I need a tip. Thanks.

Ship they look great . If it's an open pour mold than it depends on how the plastic flows into the mold. On my open pours I prop the mold up a tad so the plastic fills the body first and let it harden a touch remove the prop and pour the tail. Hope it works out but a little tail bleed never hurt the fish any
In our government-controlled schools we are taught that Lincoln was our greatest president because his war ended slavery and saved the Union. As usual, the other side of the story – the side that reflects poorly on the government – somehow gets lost. – Richard J. Maybury, The Abe Lincoln Hoax

Thank you my friend. I will try that. I will also not use as much color so the light can go through it better. Stay tuned.
