I have a full bait mold that also has a tail mold. My question is... after I make up some tails, how long do I have to put them in the whole mold to shoot the body and still get a good bond? Can I say..make up several colored tails one day then inject the bodies the next day and still have a good bond or do the tails need to go right to the body mold? Trying to figure out a good system here, thanks for any info.

I agree with crappiefarmer you need to do them the same day as you make your tales do not let them lay around we usually shoot the molds pull the bodies off or tails and shoot right away the second color if you leave your tales to the second day what happens is they will put out a oil in when you try to get them to bond that oil will stop you and you will not get any bonding at all .

I use to do what you asked and I would make my tails and then the next day or a few days later I would use them and they bonded fine for me. I wondered what people were talking about when they said if plastic cured you could not bond another half or they would come apart. They were right, when I tried with the bodies doing half and half, if I let one half cure first they would split right in half. Not sure how I got lucky with the tails, but I wont be trying it anymore. I will from now on do the whole process at one time
I shoot tails and claws when i have extra plastic left over from other batches. I have no problem with them bonding days later. Shoot your body color at a higher temp and you will be fine.
