yes I know who it looks very good but bass has a replica of a rattlesnake small one I believe that there is quite a few snaky looking molds out there. Snakes are pretty good here for smallmouth is we do have plenty of snakes around here and occasionally they get in the River and the bass will eat them alive I don't know if you ever watched a bunch of smallmouth bass work on a big snake but it is hilarious.
I have used some of the other stuff and oo moo and it is expensive and I was not satisfied with it. Is there any way you can post pictures of the tube and a tutorial of how you do yours. I said I would never try that stuff again, but as good as yours looks andif it seems as I can do it for cheaper I might try it again maybe.
Send me a p.m. of what your trying to make . Some lures are not easily done . You can use plaster as well . If you powder coat the plaster mold the lure will come out slick as a whistle.
I tried plaster and it was a nightmare. I tried to do it on small crappie baits and it was really more trouble than it was worth. I thought about doing like a 4.5 or 7 inch lizard. I also like that snake bait you made.
If you are trying to use a bait to do a plaster mold . Glue the bait to a plate of some sort with pvc glue . Clean the bait first soap and water will do . Now you will need a tray that accepts the plate dimension . Here is where most people go wrong . Line the tray with cling wrap . Put in the plate bait side up . Pour the plaster in . When you are sure it is set hard remove the plaster pull off the plate . You should have a near perfect replica mold. I just did a 5 '' reaper mold this A.M. . Tonight I will heat it in the oven and spray it with powder paint Then Bake it out . If possible I will post a pic soon .
Here is the plaster reaper mold I made today using the method I posted . Be sure to coat the mold at 350 degrees with powder paint and bake it out every coat . Don't miss a spot or that spot will stick .Attachment 65943
