I have been told you can make your own molds by casting a current lure in plaster. anyone have any info on how to do this.

you can definitely do it. I have made several of them that way. Some people do okay with them like that. I never really cared for it myself and although the baits caught fish, to me they were nowhere near as good as injection jigs. The process was very slow and aggrevating as well. I would never go back to making them that way. Some people will tell you they lilke it and are ok with it, but I am not one of them. There are several ways you can do it like that. The best way is to google it or do a search of the topic and you should find plenty of articles on it.

If you use plaster, try this trick to seal it . let the plaster set 24 hrs where it is hot and dry . Then put it in the oven heat it up to about 350 . spray it with powder paint . let it cool then put it back in the oven for an hour. It does two things one , it smooths out the plaster ,two it strenghtens the plaster mold so if you drop it won't break as easily. I've done this to a couple molds already and was satisfied with the result.
