    Question Bluegill / Shellcracker Bug

I am trying to find out who make the little Bluegill Bugs / Shellcracker Bugs that are popular around Ky. Lake. They are about an inch long, have a tapered tail and resemble a wax worm. They are available in several colors and some of the guys there are running little pieces of living rubber through the body to look like little legs. Does anyone know where they are offered in bulk?

    Thanks for your help,
    Richard

They're easy to make yourself. Just get some beetle spin bodies, or get some curly tail grubs and cut the tail off. The bluegill won't know the difference.

    Thumbs up Guys ...

ToddRod, Chucktx, KCBrown ... I took a stab at making my own, and here's the post : http://www.crappie.com/crappie/diy-s...nd-bugs-2.html

Everything I used is shown in the picture in my post. The only thing I had to buy, that I didn't have on hand, was a pkg of needles. I found them at Wal-Mart, in the craft section ... but, the only pkg they had that had a needle with a big enough eye to put a piece of rubber band or tube tail into, was a multi-pack that had a "Sack" needle. The "Sack" needle was all I needed ... and works great. Its tip is "pointed" & not beveled, so it pushes thru the bodies, rather than cutting/slicing thru ... & also it's less likely to cut/slice ME, too Rofl Thumbs Up

    Yeah cp,

No one likes being stuck with a needle. When I first started doing this I jabbed one between the nail and the flesh of the finger quite a ways up. It took three weeks for the pain to go away. I have used sack needles now for the past year.
