    Default Hey Snake....What if........

I took a jelly body I got from SnakeRiver and used a needle to thread marabou and rubber skirt material through it. I applied a drop of super glue to cement it to a jig head.

Then I coated it with "Hard as nails."

Then I applied mixed glitter by coating a small brush with it and dropping it on to the wet jelly jig.

Then when it dried I applied another coat of "Hard as nails." What do you think? This might also work with other baits like small cranks etc.

I think it's a good ideal if it works I'm assuming on your signature in the picture. This is one of the and that you've done this to if so they look pretty good . Matter of fact they look awesome you're doing a good job ship let me know when you run out of bodies. I want to keep you busy until spring. we will be doing some interesting things to come with the bodies. I think that you will like what I have in mind. ship doesn't that hard as nails melt the plastic it seems like that stuff would melded I will have to try that to see what happens. I would imagine know whether down your way is beautiful you gonna have to build me a cabin.

Hey Bob that is it in my signature. The trick was not to apply too much nail polish or glitter that the bait becomes hard. I imagine some of the glitter falling off when fishing it. I am sure that would be like falling scales and attract crappie. I read where someone was doing this to crankbaits and began to tinker with it with my Jilly Jelly bodies I got from you.

As you know I am partial to chartreuse and lime chartreuse. I experiment with different tails for the contrast Bob. I am also out of the jig making and tying selling business. I do love to tinker with those little bodies for myself though. Keep them coming. Take care my friend.

I did find out that just as in jig tying "Less....is more." Don't use too much nail polish or glitter. I think you want to give just a hint of scales or a lateral line and let more of the Jilly Jelly bodyshow through. Just a thought.....

By the way Bob today it was cool. It was 53 and sunny. The weather has been running 8-10 degrees cooler than normal this winter. Will be mid 50's all next week too. It is nice to not have to shovel snow or skid on ice.

I know Kent Driscoll from the BnM pro-staff does that with his cranks. We tried it a couple years ago in Grenada and the ones with glitter caught a few more fish than the plain painted ones.

I think you are trying to get me in trouble. Yes, ship does good work. And I deftly like to see what other people come up with. Well I got a surprise for ship I think is going on like what we got in mind for him on those little rubber bodies.

if it was in the 50s here. I would be tickled pink and I deftly would be planning my peas it is partner two o'clock and the temperature is 39° it just started to drop it warmed up care quite a bit . We are expecting snow off and on for the next couple days and then getting colder are fishing water is completely iced over. Will try to take some pictures and post them you could not put a boat in the water. If you had to it will be quite a while before we get any fishing in or word or two about using glitter so we can fall off your jigs which is a good ideal but also you can take him by glitter from Walmart real cheap and sprinkle it in the water when you are fishing do get the same effect maybe we have done this with marabou jigs and use glitter on the body same principle but we use glue or clear vinyl paint you could use your jig inserts like you were painting for a while there. With the marble and dipping them in clear vinyl and then into your glitter and then back into your were vinyl and you will have a beautiful finish you deftly will have a sparkly jig.
