Could you give a photo interpretation? I think I can see the fish, but I'm not sure about the structure.

Yup, a photo interpretation would be nice for us non-side-imagers.

I would guess that is boo in the center, going almost to the surface and to each side would be lesser tops, or condos perhaps (left) sunk with concrete blocks???

Fish are the glowing white footballs on the right??

    Thanks,

    aj

That would be my guess, too, but I had rather not guess.

There is a large cedar tree laying down on the right, not the way i wanted it to sit, but it layed down anyway. there are four 6' pvc condos in a row to the left of the tree. there are a few 5 gallon buckets with 4' boards scattered around in close proximity to these. Its not a very good picture to identify with, without knowing what is down there, the pvc does not show up very good. it seems there are a few schools of crappie around all of this. now i just need to go and catch some!

A side imaging unit is great for crappie fishing huh? Man we will have to invest in one of those one day after we get out atlantis going strong

I have a SI but I haven't been able to get detail like that. Thanks for the pic and if you have time to look at your settings and pass those along to us newbies that would be great too.

in that pic are you jacking your settings up to 800? also how many feet out are you scanning, i was told to crank it up to 800 from 400 and if i shoot out only 80 feet a side instead of the 150 things clear up some, just been to lazy to get out and check it

Hey, i'm a newbie too! i just run it at about 2\3 sensitivity. if i want a better picture, on something i know is there, i scan out about ten feet farther than the water is deep, and get very close to the structure. If it's in 30' water, i'm scanning out only 40'. There are many guys on here that know a ton more than me about these things, maybe some of them will chime in.

    jmack,

I saw this thread some time back... wondering if you ever caught any crappie out of the ol' lost city?
