Default How should Cover be "Sitting"?

Have a bunch pecan limbs and I'm wondering how they should be sitting on the bottom? I mean do I need to try to get them standing up? Should I just drop them over the side? Will pecan sink w/o weight added to them? I'm new at building brushpiles so any help would be appreciated here guys.

Sizes ranges but it is some good sized stuff.

    Thanks,

Wire them to some concrete blocks, with the blocks on the bottom. If not they will float off, I use electric fence wire

Should I drop it all in one direction? I guess I should take into account how I want to approach it and the way the wind is apt to blow.

Yeah...I figure it "ain't" rocket science so I wil pick my spots and place it so I can ease up into the brushpile, catch a fish and then have the wind push me out of the pile.

Thanks Papp and Lowe for your responses.

I use plastic 5 gal buckets (fill half full of concrete)... sometimes I cut the buckets in half... fill with concrete, insert sticks, wait 24 hrs & watch em go to the bottom.... that way the sticks it going upward....Very seldom get hung up using minnos....Very easy to get your hook dislodged, dropping your weight will dislodge the hook.......
Here is some 5 ft stick condos I built.... and Yes they do hold crappie....

And when you load em up in your boat the plastic does not scratch your boat.....

Here is a 10 footer I sank in 30+ water under a bridge for fall fishing...

I like to sink a small tree on a fairly sharp drop-off usually with the butt end up hill so all the limbs will reach out towards the deeper water. If the top does not smash the bottom limbs down but rather sits on top of the 5 gallon buckets of rocks that I sink them with, all the better.

Just weight down and sink them, don't spend a lot of time trying to control how they will lay.
