Simple small PVC tree ideas

Anyone have small PVC tree ideas? Ideally something that can be glued together on the boat. Would like to be able to deploy a couple each time I go out.

Also I saw a post on here a while back about sources for scrap PVC. Anyone have a link to that?

take 3in pvc cut in 5ft section. drill 3/4 in holes through them about 2 ft apart all the way down. pour concrete in bottom 1ft or 2 first. then cut 3/4 pvc 4 ft long. Take zip ties and zip them on 3/4 pvc about 2ft down. When you get to lake slide them through the holes in the 3 inch and zip tie other side of 3/4 in. Drop them and they ll stand up fine, if they turn over they wont go far.

I saw one that already had the concrete poured--and had pvc stubbed in with the couplers (caps)attached. Made it easy to transport. When they arrived at the spot the glued the extensions on and dropped it over. Hope I'm explaining that right.

Here is mine. 1/2" pipe 5ft long stuck into a block then concrete filling the block holes.

You could also just use 2ft of pipe and glue a section to each one in the boat.
That way its not as tall to haul out and take more out in the boat.

I don't have that link but I posted on it. Plumbing and electrical supply houses (independently owned) are great sources. Sometimes they get shipments of pipe and conduit in damaged. The pipe companies give the store credit for the pipe and tell the store to dispose of it. They have no use for it and it is difficult to dispose of. Go by and give them your number and tell them to call you if they get some. The only problem with it is the damage that occurs on the pipe is the shape of the pipe - most of the time it has been warped to an egg shape meaning you cannot couple it the way you are looking to do. Other than that, this source is a pipe gold mine.

Yep. That's what I had in mind.
Has anyone ever put small boo in the tops of the pipes?
I have a lot of small boo in my area but not the big stuff.

I was wondering about that, make condo with pvc then jam boo inside and around in the cement. Sounds like best of both worlds. Would loose the stealth of the pvc alone maybe??

Use a gallon milk jug. Cut the top out, pour in some concrete, then put 4 to 5 pipe in it. Let it set up and you have it. Can carry 3 or 4 of these on a small boat. CF

freeflow, I do what shilohred does except I use 5 gallon buckets instead of the concrete blocks. I like the block idea too. probably wouldn't use as much quickcrete. When you drop them in the water they umbrella down to the bottom. The reason I know this is because I lost one over the side of a small jon in a pond one day and it floated straight down. I get my pvc from a buddy of mine who is a plumber. They usually always have scrap!:D
