    Default Latest Pallet Crappie Condo

Placed a pallet into the water by our dock today. Took 4 cement blocks to get it to really hold tight to the rocky bottom! Had taken some slats from it leaving only about 1/2 of them in place, then screwed on some of the ones I had taken off, placing them vertical or at a slight angle--some I cut in half because of the shallow depth of the water. Had more trouble than I thought as far as getting it to where I wanted it. Tied a rope to the steel posts on my dock, stood on the shore, threaded the rope thru the pallet (minus the blocks) using a pipe bracket attached to the pallet, held the rope up high, the pallet sliding into position. Only problem was that the heavy oak pallet wanted to suspend in the water, so had to use another rope, thread a concrete block on it similar to the way I did the pallet, getting the block to slide down the rope and to finally come to rest on the pallet. Think the boss (my wife, just let her think she's the boss) thought I was nuts.:p Finally got it where I wanted it after the 4th block was on the pallet.
