I need to know what type of lake bottom do crappie prefer to make a bed. Do they like a muddy flat or do they like rocky bottom. I went out scouting for shallow cover yesterday and found 10-15 flat gravel piles, each about the size of a car hood, scattered on a 12-18" deep mud flat. If they like rocks, I might have found a honey spot.
