Reusing Buckets????????

Is there anyway to get the concreat out of the buckets so you can reuse your buckets?

Cut your plastic bucket in half from top to bottom. Put one round of duct tape around the middle and one around the bottom of your bucket. Put your concrete in and your boo or whatever you are sinking. After the concrete sets up remove the tape and pull the plastic bucket apart. You still have your bucket and can reuse it over and over.

put vegetable oil or any food grade oil but not motor oil on the inside of the bucket and it should come right out. I know concrete workers uses deisel fuel on their forms before the pour concrete.

Agreed; the vegetable oil is easily biodegradable, but grease, diesel, ect is NOT and should NOT be used...

Drill a couple holes in the bottom of your buckets. I've found it helps to relieve the suction & makes them easier to remove.

Pam it. I use Pam cooking spray. I drilled 3 holes in the bottom, at 12 oclock, 4 oclock, and 8 oclock. Drill about 3/8" diameter holes. flip the bucket over, and put a 1" square of duct tape over the 3 holes, then spray Pam on the inside. Then pour your concrete. After it sets up, flip it over, and using the 3 holes, push the concrete out using the 3 holes. There is enough taper in the bucket that it will come out easily once you get it started. I have been using the same 2 buckets for forms for several years to make anchors/weights. A little harder to make boo buckets, but it still works. You just turn it on its side, and get buddy to help pull it out of the bucket

I do a similar version of this. I use an old feed bucket, and only cut the sides to the bottom. the bucket is rubber so it flexes real easy. I also use a couple rubber bungee cords to hold the form together. Have been doing this for a couple years using the same bucket.

Put a plastic sack from the grocery store, Wal-mart or wherever in the bucket and pour the concrete in the sack in the bucket. Requires mixing the concrete in another container but leaves the bucket clean to reuse.
