condo question
I am planning on building a few condo's out of pvc and was wondering which will hold fish better. A tree, a 6" trunk with 3/4" branches or not real sure what you would call them but just sticking about 10 pieces of 3/4" in a bucket with of course concrete ? I have read to place atleast 3 to 4 condo's in one area. I just dont want to make a mistake and not build the right type. Thanks guys.

PVC is very durable, but they are all but invisible if allowed to fill with water; GPS them as they are dropped (unlessyou unmistakeably KNOW where they are). Personally, prefere a mix of different types in each set; cedar, stakes, Christmas trees, hard wood limb brush blocks, ect. Variety is the spice of life... be safe.

Should I place caps on some of the pvc so they dont fill up with water then?

Several different trains of thought; A- are you willing to share? If not, no cap, GPS IMMEDIATELY upon release; this is the "keep it secret" method; B- if you play well with others (and prudently put out several others, just in case everyone else is playing on yours when you next come by), try this; fill the main pipe with RIGID expanding foam, allow to set and trim off excess; put a aluminum foil pie pan with a snug hole cut in it over the top just below the cap and cement the cap on. Good thing with this rig is it`s VERY easy to see with sonar; BAD thing with this rig is it`s VERY easy to see with sonar- sticks out like a mouse turd in a bowl full of sugar! Might suggest a combo of A and B both, just in case. Remember to GPS the B`s ! Let us know which set gets fished the most, and BE SAFE!
