    Default Grilling/Smoking Crappie

Looking for any ways you have either grilled or smoked crappie filets - need ideas with filets - not whole fish

Put some olive oil in a bowl along with whatever dry seasoning, lemon pepper, garlic onion, or your favorite, mix it all up then put in some fillets mixing them all around to get the seasoning on all the fillets, take the fillets at one end then roll them up and take a piece of thin sliced bacon and wrap around it and poke a tooth pick through to hold it together.Put them on the grill standing up,then slice a lemon in half squeezing some juice down into the fillets and cook for approx.20-25 min add baked potato, corn on the cobb and salad.THEN ENJOY.

can I ask why the need to be stood up? do you rotate them from one end to the other while cooking - or just put them on the grill that way until they are done?

Just put them on the grill that way until they are done. That way just lets the lemon juice cook down into the fish.

Wanna go an easy route put your favorite BBQ dry rub on your fillets work in good spray both sides with pam let sit in freezer for about 20 to 30 min throw on a hot grill for about 20 min per side and enjoy or get creative and cook 10 minutes on each side mop them down with your favorite BBQ sauce then cook for an additional ten min it is awsome
