So I haven't really grilled in years. I gave away a Charbroil charcoal pit when we moved to Tn. 9 years ago. I was in Lowes in Savannah Tn. about 6 years ago and they were closing out pits after labor day. They had a nice 2 burner Charbroil on sale for 70% off. I picked one up and even got military discount. Paid about $60. Put it together and never used it. Gave it to a SIL when we moved back to Louisiana about 5 years ago. Was at Lowes buying some flower plants a couple months back. Walking out I saw a few grills and decided to look at a charcoal pit. What a lucky day. They had 3 Chargriller pits marked down. They had been outside a while and had a little rust on the charcoal pan and grills. Then I noticed they were marked down from $150 to $25. Yes $25. I should have bought all 3. I picked the least rusty one. Very little rust. And yes they gave me 10% off of that, so with tax it came to $24.80. Took all of 10 minutes to prep and paint the charcoal pan. I cleaned the grills and oiled them with vegetable oil. I have used it twice now and the rust is cured. I even sent in the registration card. 5 year warranty on the body. Anyway I used it for the second time today. Food in picture is small steak, burger, sausage and we had green beans, potato salad and beet/tomatoes on the side. I also threw on a couple dogs. We have leftovers for tomorrow. That's my story.... ADVICE: Keep a close look at Lowes. I also got a $750 rear tine tiller for $300 with tax that same summer. Called a friend and he came and got one also, him not being a vet paid $330. I have no affiliation with Lowes, but as a veteran I do appreciate the %10 discount.
P.S. Helped a neighbor with some packing and hauling stuff to the dump about 3 weeks ago. She gave me a pit she know longer wanted. It just needed cleaning and painting, which I did in about an hour total. Now it is in perfect shape. Probably about a $200 pit. Now I have 2.Gonna check with my nephew and see if he has worn out the one I gave him. If he wants this one , it will cost him a steak.
Pit neighbor gave me. Had not been used in a few years. Great condition. Better price.

Dave the food was really good. Steak was medium, shooting for medium rare. Was still tender. Love green beans seasoned up and bacon and potato chunks in it. Potato salad was leftover side from Friday. Cooked shrimp etouffee Friday. It was also good.
