I split a mess of crappie with my mother this weekend. She'd been wanting some, and trying to make amends for my teenage years I figured it would be best if I got my momma some crappie. Thanks to Slabprowler, we had enough for a mess for both families.
I washed the fillets, salted them and lightly coated with Old Bay seasoning. I cooked them at 300 on the Big Green Egg, letting them get some smoke. I cooked them on a pizza stone (probably not the best cooking surface) They were delicious.
