    Default Tartar Sauce ??

I really like tartar sauce on my deep fried fish. Can't seem to find any that comes close to the taste at some of the restaurants ?? I tried making some from recipes, and it came out just so so!

Anyone have a brand they really like that can be purchased?

    Thanks for your help.

I like tartar sauce on salt water fish but prefer my freshwater fish plainer. Are Wickles pickles available where you live? I finely chop 6-8 slices and add it to a hefty dollop of Hellmans (or Best Foods out west) mayo and add 2-3 teaspoons of the pickle brine itself and stir it up; usually about an hour before use. Wickles are sweet and spicy and to my way of thinking make a very nice dressing.

I know you asked for a brand to purchase but its been years since I used store bought.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

    6poundtest,

Thanks, will give it a try, Publix stores here do carry the Wickles Pickles.

Not a brand, but my go to is 1 part mayo, 1 part sour cream and a little fresh horseradish to taste. I got this from a chef in Charleston, SC.
