    I'm tempted to buy one.

Not sure about that one, but I have a Rocket Fish Scaler and love it for cleaning fish in a hurry while on the water

Way back in the day, we used on that we pulled behind the boat. Would hold half a dozen or so good sized bream. Course back in the 70's, lots of the bait houses and stores around Toledo Bend had big rotary fish scalers. They were about the size of a big commercial clothes drier. After they came out of there, about all you had to do was to check around the fins for a scale or two, then cut the head and gut. They have all been gone for a long time.

    I have one I made, turns 13rpm can scale 100 12"crappie in 15 minutes.
I would have to go measure it but it 18"x36" I think. Not hard to make
the gear box is the most expense.

I remember my dad got a Rocket pull-behind scaler from a pawn shop when I was a kid. It didn't have any instructions, so he just guessed as to what he was supposed to do. He loaded up 20 or so good-sized crappie and bream in that thing and pulled it behind the boat on full plane for about 10 minutes. When he pulled up the scaler, those fish were darn near liquified. That thing collected dust in our garage for years after that. All user error, but a fun little story.

Try a pressure washer. Place fishes head in a fillet board clip and direct the washer spray at an angle against the scales. Zip, the scales are gone, and most of the slime too.

Another method is to place the fish in a washtub of water; place the spray head in the tub at an angle that rotates the water and fish. As the fish pass by the spray head, the scales are removed.
