Price and quality
A friend gave me a BnM Sharpshooter 6.0 dock shooter rod and it is as good as any dock shooting rod that I have ever owned or tried. Better than most too.
PST will get those big cats in while cranking.

BnM are the poles of choice for me. Other poles may be great but I've got a winner with BnM so there is no need for me to change. Not sure about other brands but I've always like the fact that if I needed to replace a section it's available. Only reason I've had to was because of my clumsiness. Stepping on are poking down to retrieve a .50 cent jig. I use the quick change reels on my jigging poles. Light in weight and tough on action.
