thats sweet keep it up.how big is the largest one
Don't remember exactly probably around 45lbs. On a good scale, I've seen alot of pics that people post of their fish stating larger wieghts then the fish really are.Not to say a fisherman would lie. wink, wink, nod, nod. I've seen alot of 50,s that were more like 35.
Our biggest to date is a 72lbs.
One day I am going to try catfish noodling. I just would never do something like that alone. Once I can find a group of guys at school that are willing to try it I'd do it.
I noodle cats down here in Louisiana, but it is rather popular and alot of the easy spots to get toget fished out if your not there first.
as stated many pages ago......its fun, but......way way way OVER_RATED ..... 95% of the guys who get in the water ALREADY KNOW where the fish are !! They "planted" the boxes and barrells that the fish LIVE in.....catch em - and put them back for a new group of "newbies" next week- but the experience is real !
Racn35, perhaps you think guys should just randomly swim around and hope to bump into one?
OF COURSE THEY KNOW WHERE THE HOLES ARE. The 5% that don't are usually the guests. There is no gaurantee that there is a fish in any of them. The fish aren't tethered in there.
I don't understand your repeated argument against noodling. So far as I know, there is no mystique associated with the sport as to being able to anchor off over just any random area and swim up with a fish.
perhaps, but it is gauranteed or they dont stop at that "hole" - there are no holes.....they are planted there - barrel or box - man made - get it ......
i have NOT repeat NOT argued against it...... just brought out the reality of it all
Racn there is no guarantee on anything but death and one day its coming for you and me. Yeah there are man made things down there for the fish but jump off in 6 ft of water no tanks or anything and catch a fish. OH YEAH wait there are logs and stump holes bank holes wash outs under boat ramps for fish also. And because I know where the holes are doesnt mean a thing. To me I like to see If I am smart enough to find a place a fish will set. They just dont say theres a hole let me go in and set. It takes time , energy, and just a little bit of fish smarts to catch fish this way. It is rewarding to find a spot that you can go back too year after year and catch fish. Its not as easy and simple as you make it sound. Your right there is the experience and thats the whole point the experience. To me there is no better way to spend a day than in the river with your family and friends hand grabbing.
Never......thats what my cancer Doctor told me too.......they gave me 90 days to 6 months to live......that was 4 years ago......there is no ass I cant kick.
