Missouri River Catfishing

I fish the Missouri River, in Missouri, several times a year. Never really done any good. Fish behind the wing dams and at the end of them into the current. Am I fishing at the wrong places? I fish mainly below Jefferson City. I have used all the traditional baits and even cut bait too, to no avail. Oh I/we, catch the occasional little ones, but not many and not big.
I suppose I answered my own question. If so, where then,,... in the big muddy,,...should I be fishing?
