    Default Catfishing is HOT!

This month has been awesome for trolling for Catfish.
Today my clients landed 46 channel cats. The largest was 9.5 pounds but they had several real nice fish as well.
4 to 6' of water trolling cut baits has been the ticket.

Been threatening to catfish all summer and havent went yet. I'm marking all kinds of fish on the bottom on flats ranging from 12-18' deep. Next time I go fishing I'm planning on dragging a couple lines for catfish while spider rigging for crappie. Hopefully I'll catch a couple cats too. Nice catch and pictures. Good report.Thumbs Up

Thanks for the post. Please fill me in on trolling for them. I have an ipilot on my boat. Is there a certain mph? What weight and hook. I troll for crappie out the back of my boat. Is it the same. Id like to try this at high rock lake in Nc. Thanks so much.

This is the reason I decided to start trolling for Cats as I too would always catch them trolling for crappie.

Its kinda the same but I use Planer Bobbers to pull the baits out to the side as I run 6 poles behind the boat and do not tangle at all. When you cover 50 to 70' wide of an area then the odds are in your favor to catch alot of nice cats.

Thanks crappiemaster. Do you have a name or pict of the planer bobber. That is a sweet idea. Keep up the good work on them cats. I have never cared about monster cats. I like to eat them too much. Lol. Thanks again.
