    Default Flathead/ Appaloosa

What is the best bait for Flathead ? I understand that they don't like Shell crackers. Guess I wouldn't want a bulldog running loose in my stomach ether. Looking for some HELP .

My #1 choice is ricefield slicks (Green Sunfish) about 4'' or larger. You catch too many Channels with small bait. They will bite just about any fish that's live from Blue Gill to Bullheads Catfish to Goldfish. I have caught Flatheads on 3 lb Channel Catfish that had taken the bait first. Bigger is better when looking for big Catfish.
I have had folks look at my tub of Ricefield Slicks that were so big they thought I had a good mess of fish to clean.RoflThumbs Up

yattes here in oklahoma if the game fish is caught legally and is of legal length you can do what ever you want with it.as for the bait question i have caught flatheads on shad, perch, drum, crappie, sand bass, water dogs if anyone knows what they are( sure wish i could find some place to buy them again) chicken liver, cut up carp and also gar strips. alot of people use gold fish i have never caught anything but turtles on them. you can also use hotdog chunks soaked in garlick powder. a buddy of mine uses cheese.
