Default When do cats start moving?

At what water temp do Cats start moving to shallower water? I live on Table Rock lake in Southern Missouri and want to learn something about catching Cats here.

No clue about Missouri but I'll start fishing for them from my bank spots the main lake in about 2-4 weeks. 2 if the weather stays warm, 4 if not. Can always get some cats but it's hard to find the bream, white perch, and shad for bait while it's cold.

Check this out for some tips.

I hand grab catfish in MS.... The blue cats move into our holes during the whole month of May and the start of June. The flatheads usually move in from June to middle of July. Now that is when they are on the beds so they probably move in earlier to feed before getting on the beds.

I haven't quit fishing for blues or channels all winter on the mo river, here in washington mo. dont know much about the rock, but I bet a wad of shad guts on a good flat or point with deeper water close by will catch a few right now. things are already heating up at truman and loz, so get out there!
ps, lake springfield has produced some good stringers lately. luck to ya!

In So. Illinois the channels are now hitting. Full activity by late April and Early May. I find decent fishing when the temps reach 55 degrees.
