All being well, this coming january and february will be spent in your warm climate. January is in palm desert, and february is in newport beach. Am a nut fisherman, and am interested if there is any freshwater fishing that is open and accessible at that time of the year? Have done a tiny bit of fishing the last couple of years in the desert, but just fooling around. Do a great deal of saltwater on the coast, but this is the first time in the newport area. I am bringing my belly tube with me for the first time, and would love a chance to use it in freshwater as well as the time i will be spending in newport bay. Will appreciate any advise you can supply.
