    Default Muddy River Fishing

Hey all, looking for a bit of advice for a muddy river scenario…

    same river as previous post.

was having good success when the weather was stabilizing out with no rain and a steady increase in temperature that lead to some good pre spawn, spawn, and some fish transitioning out of the spawn.

theres been some roller coaster weather weather the past week or so with some days being in the 80’f range with others being in the low to mid 60’s but I haven’t been able to fish during, along with some rain the past couple days that raised the river by probably 5”-6”, slight increase in current speed, and visibility down to around 7”-8” as apposed to the normal 12”-16”.

im of the opinion now that most of the fish will be mostly in the post spawn transition as well which from some reading appears it can slow things down as well.

My thoughts would be that fish will move up tighter and shallower to the shoreline structure and little cut ins out of the current. just wondering more so if this is the right track of thinking and what I should consider throwing. In the normal conditions I was doing decent either long rod jigging just off shoreline laydowns and slow swinging jigs over the structure, but should I be using the same presentation or would using something different like a road runner or something with some added vibration be a better course? Or given all the factors of being post spawn and poorer water conditions, would it be better to wait for things to stabilize?

    thanks in advance

Well, there is nothing stable in a dynamic world. Whenever you wait for perfect conditions, you probably won't fish much. Safety is the main thing.
