    Default New Boat setup questions

I just uploaded pics of my boat to my profile. I'm working to get her water ready and need some pointers/advice.

    Where to mount fire extinguisher?
Where to put stuff? The only storage area I have is under the bow unless I deckmount some type of box or such.

Ignore all of the tackle boxes except 1.

Planning a quick pull rope disconnect on the bow and stern for anchor lines, for now they will have to go on cleats
Bow anchor setup is tentative. The plan is to lash the 5gal bucket in place after I drill a few drain holes in the bottom to let rain water out if/when necessary.
Stern anchor setup, no idea. Only have a mushroom for the stern atm.

I still need at least one seat pole, trying to figure out length. The one I have is 13". I wonder if a longer one would be better? Once I get my seat poles sorted I'll make umbrella mounts from PVC pipes.

The plan includes mounting my large cooler (on loan at the moment) center deck or even slightly forward. It will serve as a cooler/storage/livewell/seat. I need to wait to get the cooler to see if it will be mounted in line with the center or crosswise (open to suggestions).

Thanks in advance for your patience with me.
Oh and the wiring came with the boat, I'm planning a re-wire to add in a proper fused bus.

both batteries have tie down straps which were disconnected for maintenance activities.

That looks like a nice rig you have. Not sure if this is your first boat. I would suggest the safety first. Make sure you have room for life vests and mount the extinguisher in a convenient spot. Maybe the lights and horn, etc. Then come up with a tool kit and get it stowed away. I have a extra pull strap, electrical tape, tie straps and basic tools in mine. After that will be alot of trial and error. Pole storage would be a priority. And keep in mind that real estate inside the boat is prime. You dont want to be cramped because you will need to move around. So think minimal when it comes to tackle. Like what will you be actually using regularly. You don't want to be digging for equipment that you have stowed and forgot to unstow before launch.
I definitely wouldnt do any major renovation until you get it out a few times. That will be when the light bulbs start coming on..
    Happy fishing and good luck!
