That works pretty good for White Crappie, as the males can get almost completely black. However, on the Black Crappie, the coloration difference is sometimes so slight that only a bulging belly is the key.

Depends on the waters but here we have a problem with too many Crappie stunting growth rates.

sometimes i keep a limit sometime i do release a few of those large females :twocents
